چکیده
To identify members of the BAF, we applied the Hierarchical Clustering Method (HCM) to search for asteroids near (298) Baptistina in proper element space (e.g., Bendjoya and Zappalà 2002, and references therein). Proper orbital elements, being more constant over time than instantaneous orbital elements (Knežević et al. 2002), provide a dynamical criterion of whether or not a group of bodies has a common ancestor. The orbital parameters of (298) Baptistina are proper semimajor axis aP = 2.264 AU, proper eccentricity eP = 0.15, and proper inclination iP = 5.7◦ (Knežević and Milani 2003).

A Non-magmatic Iron Meteorite as Impactor for the Rochechouart Crater
The Rochechouart impact crater in the French Massif Central, has a diameter of 20 25 km [1] and an age of 250 my [2]. The cater is deeply eroded, down to the crater floor. Impact melt outcrops can be found in different parts of the crater [3]. The type of impactor that produced Rochechouart crater is still not clear. The first proposal of an IIA iron asteroid was based on the abundance of some ...
متن کاملThe breakup of a main-belt asteroid 450 thousand years ago.
Collisions in the asteroid belt frequently lead to catastrophic breakups, where more than half of the target's mass is ejected into space. Several dozen large asteroids have been disrupted by impacts over the past several billion years. These impact events have produced groups of fragments with similar orbits called asteroid families. Here we report the discovery of a very young asteroid family...

Dezful embayment contains several potential source rocks deposited in tectonically active environments. Existence of various source rocks with different geological ages makes this area one of the most prolific regions throughout the Middle East. The Pabdeh Formation (Lower Paleocene-Eocene), the Gurpi Formation (Santonian-Masstrichtian), the Kazhdumi Formation (Albian) and the Gadvan Formation ...
متن کاملRecent Origin of the Solar System Dust Bands
Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) observations in 1983 revealed the existence of several solar system dust bands. These dust bands are believed to be debris produced by recent disruption events among main-belt asteroids, particularly because dust particles have short dynamical and collisional lifetimes. Using young asteroid families as tracers of recent disruptions in the main belt, we lin...
